Tangle Guard Banding Material

Tanglefoot Tangle-Guard Tree Wrap is a 3-inch by 50-foot roll of coated crepe paper, designed to keep young trees from sun-scald and act as a convenient banding material for applying Tree Tanglefoot. Tangle-guard is weather resistant, and can be on the tree for up to 6 months, usually from November to April for sunscald protection. All our tree wrap is made in the USA with virgin materials.

Directions For Tree Protection:

To prevent sun scald, damage from rodent or mammal feeding and bark bruising from string trimmers:

1. Starting at the base of the tree, wind wrap around trunk and work upward in overlapping bands until reaching the branches.
2. Secure wrap by tucking end into the last overlapping row or use masking tape or light twine that will decompose naturally.

Directions For Insect Protection:

Use with TREE TANGLEFOOT INSECT BARRIER (purchased separately). For spongy moths, ants, cankerworms, vine weevils and other crawling insects. Tangle Guard Banding Material provides a base to minimize contact with the tree trunk.

1. Wrap banding around tree trunk, out of contact with children or pets.
2. Wind tree wrap tightly around trunk to prevent insects from crawling under the wrap. On rough bark trees, plug the gaps under the band with cotton batting, foam or similar material.
3. Secure wrap by tucking end into the last overlapping row or use masking tape or light twine that will decompose naturally.
4. Apply Tree Tanglefoot Insect Barrier, following label instructions.
